The materials are here. Before anybody starts cutting into them, Matt Pigg wants a count.
That was the first order of the morning at the Director's briefing: take inventory before we start using anything. Some of the stock stays staged where it is for now, and the crew works from a known number instead of guessing. After a Monday that cost the team a solid chunk of build time waiting on materials, nobody wants to burn through supply blind and come up short again.
The plan for the day splits the crew. A couple of hands head up to the ALC to help move things along there, without leaving anyone stranded on a job alone. Matt was clear he didn't want the team scattered. More material is on the way too: two more trucks inbound, plus another that Charlie is working to line up.
Today's hands-on work is the straightforward, high-yield kind: building the walls for the program elements, the hands-on stations where Scouts will run electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Get the crew set up, get the compressor and nail gun running, and start putting up structure. It's exactly the sort of task list that lets a team claw back the hours they lost. The mobile bunk house on the trailer is the coup de grace, the piece it all builds toward.
The sign letter cutouts for the show are due by the time the Jamboree opens, but they're not what's holding up progress today. They'll get done in time; right now the crew keeps its focus on the walls.
On the board today
- Full inventory before any materials get used
- Stage part of the stock, work from a known count
- Send a couple of crew to help at the ALC, keep the team together
- Two more trucks inbound, plus one Charlie is securing
- Build the walls for the program stations: electrical, plumbing, carpentry
- Sign letter cutouts due by Jamboree open, not holding up today's work
Materials counted, trucks rolling, walls going up, weather coming. A full day, and the crew's moving on it.
