Monday set a program record. Even as event participation across the Jamboree slowed on a hot, hard day, Skilled Trades kept growing.
The trailer alone logged more than 500 hours of Scout time in a single day; a new high for the program, and it happened on one of the hottest days of the week. When the heat thinned the crowds everywhere else, the Scouts kept coming to us and kept working.
There was no update posted yesterday, and here is the honest reason: I rolled my ankle on the trail, spent part of the day in medical, and finished it out on crutches. The work did not slow down for it.
The record built on a quiet stretch earlier in the week, when the crew knocked out the jobs only adults can do under the safety standards here. Metal roof panel went up on the trailer build. We ran short, made a run to Lowe's for more roofing, and set up to finish the roof and get the structure dried in so the interior can move.
