The last morning of the build, and the number tells the story. Over the course of the program, Scouts have put more than 3,000 hours into this trailer.
Skilled Trades Director Matthew Pigg shared the count this morning, and there is more coming: we expect another 100 to 200 hours of Scout time on the trailer today before the tools go down.
The work left is the finish work. Interior shiplap is 65 to 70 percent done and the floors still need to go down. Outside, the siding is 90 percent there. Close hands, a few hours, and it is done.
Then it takes center stage. The Hope Legacy Trailer goes on display during the final show this evening, in front of the whole Jamboree. Six days ago it was a bare trailer frame and a stack of plywood. Tonight it stands finished, built by the Scouts who walked up and picked up a tool.
