This program is good. Are you?

We want trades people who are Scouters and can share their craft. We have a track record now, and something special to build on and one-up. So we are writing names down early this time.

If you have a trade, we want you. Electrician, plumber, carpenter, welder, sheet metal, mason; if you do it for a living, there are Scouts here who have never watched anyone do it well.

If you do not have a trade, we still want you. Half this crew learned what they know the hard way, on their own houses, on weekends, from a father-in-law who did it right. One of our best volunteers this year introduced himself by saying "I don't have a trade, I'm a homeowner." He is an electrical engineer and a retired Marine. He was being modest. We also have an attorney running tech and admin, so the bar for useful is wider than you think.

What we actually need is adults who can keep their hands steady around fourteen-year-olds holding power tools; who can explain a tape measure four times without getting short about it; and who will show up when the materials are late and the plan changed an hour ago.
